A batch of sketches from my last visit at the wildlife sanctuary. Drawing live animals is hard, I'm curious about how you guys are dealing with constant moving animals.

even though these are just sketches, these are really good. and yeah, while youre doing live animal study and trying to draw their anatomy while theyre constantly moving around is really difficult because for some reason, they never want to take a moment and just sit still. It seems like whenever you pick up a pencil/pen and a piece of paper, they're off!! hahaha. And then the people decide to stare at you every second you attempt to draw something, and i just cant deal with that because i can't concentrate while people are looking at me. hahaha! ^.^ but somehow i find a way to make it work, and i see that you have as well! A+! ^.^

yeah, I wonder why animals couldn't just stay in place XD lol and when people ask "are you drawing?" ..."Nooooo" XD

I visited the zoo near me with a bunch of artist friends and we had a blast drawing the animals! It was anything but easy though. All the people you had to push out of your way and then hoping the animal doesn't walk away long enough for just a gesture! lol it was helpful though because by the end I got some really nice sketches, and I learned to draw a lot faster. I don't think you can get a finished piece from doing this though lol. I just take what I learned from drawing the animals and put it into something else.

yes, you learn a lot while doing life study, especially dealing with people who stare at you and make you feel embarrassed XD , thank you for sharing your experience :)

omg yes! So many people came by and said the weirdest things while we were drawing. It's embarrassing but after awhile I just got used to it. Thanks for reading my comment :)
